The Palestinian Ministry of Health issued a statement today reading in part,

 “During a period of time when the world was under the illusion that Israel had withdrawn from the Gaza Strip, it continued its attacks using warships, tanks, and air missile attacks. The bombing and destruction, killings and massacres, against the Palestinian people have not stopped.”

A Palestinian Ministry of Health spokesperson released the latest statistics Thursday indicating that since Israeli forces withdrew from inside the Gaza Strip at the end of last summer, they killed 378 Palestinians. Among those killed are 91 children under 18 years of age.

Israeli forces injured 1,385 Palestinians, including 494 children.

Some 2,400 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli Al Naqab Prison are on hunger strike this week in protest of routinely being stripped naked.

The naked body searches are described as humiliating and sometime Israeli prison authorities conduct them against political prisoners’ parents and other family members during visits.

This latest act of nonviolent resistance began with 20 Palestinians and quickly became 2,400. The first meal skipped was lunch Tuesday.

But with each meal skipped the demonstrators speak out about more infractions, dedicating the breakfast and lunch they refused to eat Wednesday

Israeli forces invaded eastern Nablus City’s Askar Refugee Camp early Tuesday. Israeli soldiers incurred without discovery and surrounded several homes. Eyewitness reports indicate that at least 20 military vehicles followed the soldiers just moments later. Israeli forces took three brothers from the Nadi family to unknown locations, adding to the approximate 10,000 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails.

بدأ آلاف النازحين اللبنانيين العودة إلى ديارهم وبلداتهم في جنوب لبنان فور دخول قرار وقف العمليات العسكرية حيز التنفيذ. وقد اكتظت الطرق الفرعية بمئات السيارات بعد استحالة سلوك معظم الطرق الرئيسية والجسور التي دمرها القصف الجوي الإسرائيلى خلال الأسابيع الماضية.

ورغم الدمار الهائل وحجم المعاناة الإنسانية بدت الفرحة على العائدين حيث أطلق الكثير من الركاب أبواق سياراتهم وأشاروا بعلامة النصر حاملين أعلام لبنان وحزب الله وصور الأمين العام للحزب حسن نصر الله.

وطلبت الجمعيات الأهلية والبلديات من النازحين عدم التعجل بالعودة إلى منازلهم، وسط مخاوف من وجود قنابل لم تنفجر في بعض المناطق. كما حذر الجيش اللبناني الأهالي من الاقتراب من الأجسام المشبوهة أو الدخول إلى المباني المدمرة خشية وجود قنابل ومتفجرات.

Beckham and Raúl lead a football clinic for kids

Several of Fabio Capello’s players returned to the Rice-Eccles Stadium to lead a football clinic for children on the afternoon off granted by the Italian manager. Beckham, Raúl, Adán and Javi García spent 30 minutes teaching youngsters how to dribble and kick a ball, and how to overcome some of the most common obstacles they face during games. After the lesson, an official photo was taken, and Beckham stressed how "important it is that kids want to become better footballers.
